Westfield Burwood Local Hero
Back in August we brought to your attention that DSC life member John Sanderson had been shortlisted as one of three finalists for Westfield Burwood Local Heroes for his work with Sailability at Dobroyd Sailing Club and so was in the running for the major award of $20,000.
Thank you to all those of you who took the time to lodge a public vote for John and Sailabilty, earlier this week he was awarded a $20,000 cheque to help fund engineering upgrades to Dobroyd Sailing Club’s ramp to safely support power wheelchairs, enabling more sailors with disabilities to access the water.
Selfless. Committed. Determined.
